Newspaper Article:  Ira Beck, 71 of Trout Run, RD1, died at his home in Cogan House on either Tuesday April 28 or Wednesday April 30 (date misprint).  His death was not discovered until Thursday April 30, when his nephew Foster Harlow of Trout Run RD1 found him.  He was a lifelong resident and farmer of the Cogan House area.  His only survivors are a number of nieces and nephews.  Services will be held at 2:30 Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Newspaper Article:  ROARING BRANCH FARMER EXPIRES OF HEAD INJURIES: John Brannaka, 57 of Roaring Branch, injured critically Saturday morning when he fell from the top of a silo, died in Williamsport hospital at 11:10 o'clock this morning.  Mr. Brannaka, assisted by several neighbors was engaged in filling the silo on his farm when the accident happened.  He had climbed to near the top of the silo on a ladder, a rung breaking, plunging him to the ground.   He suffered serious head injuries in the fall and was brought to the hospital in a Blossburg ambulance.  He leaves his wife, Adele, and three sons, Rudolph, a teacher in the agricultural department of Quakertown High School; Harold a freshman at Pennsylvania State College; and Charles, at home.  Two sisters and four brothers also survive him..  They are Mrs. Albert Knowlden, of Ralston, Mrs. Harriet Ridge, of Roaring Branch RD, Charles of Williamsport RD2, Thomas E., and W J, both of Williamsport, and Bruce of Pemberton, NJ.  Mr. Brannaka was a member of the Methodist Church at Ralston and of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows at Roaring Branch.

Newspaper Article:  John W. Harer, 35, died at 1:25 pm Sunday.  Dr. Clarence R. Martin, county coroner, stated that death was the result of self-inflicted gun shot wounds.  It is understood that Mr. Harer had been in depressed spirits since his arrest Thursday night on a charge of drunken driving.  He had appeared at police headquarters and pleaded not guilty to the charge.  He was to have had a hearing at 11 am June 29.  Mr. Harer who served with the Seabees during World War II, was a member of the Garrett Cochran Post No. 1, American Legion, the I.O.O.F. Griffin Lodge No. 655, of Roaring Branch, the Canton Encampment No. 184 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 143, Williamsport.  He was an employe of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation.  He leaves his wife, Marie, a brother, James, city; and four sisters, Mrs. Edith Wellendorf, city; Mrs. Mary Lawrence, West Palm Beach, Fla.; Mrs. June Walborn, Attica, NY; and Mrs. Mildred Keller, Montgomery.  Services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.  The Rev. Newspaper Article:  William H. Schmouder, 75, of Trout Run Star Route, died in the Williamsport Hospital early Sunday morning following a short illness.  A lifelong resident of the Buttonwood area, he was engaged in lumbering and farming before his retirement.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Orvilla Miller, DuBoistown, and Mrs. Carey Patterson, Mahaffey; six sons, Maynard, Floyd, Carl, Zatwris, Clair and Glenn, all of Trout Run Star Route; 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a half-sister, Mrs. David Nicholas, Cogan House.  Funeral services will be held at the residence at 2 pm. Tuesday with the rev. Woodrow J. Klinger, pastor of the Liberty Lutheran Circuit, officiating.  Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery.  Friends may call at the residence this evening.

Newspaper Article:  Mrs. Anna May Steel, 69, wife of Richard J. Steel, of Buttonwood, died at the Geisinger Hospital Friday night, after a long illness.  Surviving in addition to her husband are these brothers, Miles Crist and Monroe, of this city; Herbert, of Baltimore, Md., and Otto, Buttonwood.  Services will be held at the funeral home in Liberty Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock.  Burial will be in Friedens cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home this evening.

Newspaper Article:  Charles A. Stover, Jr. died Saturday at 1:55 pm in the Divine Providence hospital.  He was a member of Covenant Central Presbyterian Church, Lodge 106, F and AM, Williamsport Scottish Rite, Irem Temple, and Zafar Grotto.  For the last nine years he had operated the Stover Candy Company, a wholesale candy and tobacco business, and a confectionery store at 510 Fifth Avenue.  Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Stover, Cogan Station, and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary M Covert, Cogan Station.  Services took place today at 2:30 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. William A Morrison, his pastor, and the Rev. Donald M. Weitzel, pastor of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Northumberland, officiating.  Burial was in Friedens cemetery, near Liberty.
